Is this opportunity actually free?

Yes. We do not charge you to submit or exhibit. We do not charge a commision fee if your work sells through us either. You also get free entry into the event (we cant give out plus ones) It is also free to host a market stall or workshop.

How many pieces can I exhibit and what size can they be?

We are flexible on the size and number of pieces. We prefer one piece or a small collection of smaller pieces per artist. If you want to exhibit an installation please contact us to discuss this. Please do not bring extra pieces of work to the drop off that you have not submitted in your application or discussed with us prior.

Does the artwork need to be finished before I submit it?

Yes. We need to see the finished product.

Can I exhibit artwork that I have already exhibited with you?

No. Please only submit pieces we haven't exhibited before at a previous West Art Collective shows.

How should I prepare my artwork for delivery/ drop off?

Please use reusable packaging. This could be blankets, sheets, bags, envelopes, folders, boxes. Please avoid bubble wrap or plastic wrap - not only is there more environmentally friendly options, these one use packaging options make it hard for us to re-wrap your work to a suitable standard.

Do I need to attach fixings to my artworks and where?

At certain venues we use Victorian Picture Rails and hooks to exhibit artwork. This requires the fixings to be positioned at the top left and right corners or one fixing in the top middle of the piece. Fixings like D hooks work perfectly. Mirror plates do not. If you're unsure we will provide and fit the fixings.

I want to submit a video - how do i do this?

To submit a video please attach a Wetransfer link/ download to your application.

When do I need to drop my artwork off?

A date and time will be stated per application form. Alternatively, if you can not make the drop off date you can deliver work to us before or by post/ courier - please contact to arrange this before hand. All work must arrive on or before the drop off date or it will not be accepted.

My images/videos of the artwork are not attaching - what do I do?

Please email your images to us. Don't worry if you're unsure if you images have attached. Any applications we receive without photos, we will contact you and ask for them.

What else is required from me?

Once you have submitted your application you will hear back from us within the following days after the Open Call closes - regardless of whether or not your application was successful. If your application is successful, we need 2 things from you:

Your artwork dropped off on or before the drop off date - work will not be accepted late. Please spare 5 minutes to sign your artwork in with us.
To collect your work after the exhibition within 2 weeks.
